Pool fencing is a great option for when you want to increase the safety of your swimming pool. It doesn't just keep your children and pets from accidentally falling into the pool, it also keeps out wildlife and larger debris that might end up in your pool and pose a safety hazard for when you later want to use your pool. The biggest decision to make when choosing what type of pool fence you want is what material you want to use. To be able to decide this, there are a few things you might want to take into consideration about the different materials available.

Mesh

Mesh is one of the most common materials for pool fencing as it is cheap, durable, and still very flexible and easy to move around. It's also a good option if you don't want to block the view of your swimming pool. However, if you have small children or pets, you should make sure the loops in the mesh are small enough so that they can't get any hands or paws stuck in the loops and possibly get hurt. Smaller loops in the mesh will also come with the benefit that the fence will be able to pick up smaller pieces of debris that otherwise would have gotten into the pool for you to clean up.

Aluminium

Aluminium is another popular option for pool fencing, as it is also rather cheap and easy to move. The largest advantage of aluminium, however, is it's incapability of rusting. This is especially an advantage if you live in a very humid area. Aluminium is also a material that is easy to design in many different ways, which means you can have whatever look you want for your fence. A downside of aluminium is that it might not be enough to keep animals out of your pool.

Wood

Wood is a material more used for its aesthetic qualities than anything else. It still possesses the ability to keep unwelcome visitors out of your pool, but it can be more expensive than mesh and aluminium, while also being more sensitive to the weather. If you live in a humid area, or a hot area where the water from the pool is prone to vaporise, a wooden fence might have a tendency to rot. It's however durable and comes with a variety of different design options, and if you also have a wooden house, you might enjoy how well the fence goes with your house.

These are just some of the materials available, so you may want to consider contacting local pool fencing specialist to see what all your options might be.
